No. The floating test is completely unscientific. Dry wood floats, while dense water-logged wood sinks. A fake bead made of weighted plastic or lead resin can easily sink, while a genuine dry bead may float. Never rely on water tests.

X-ray radiography passes through the outer woody shell to reveal the internal anatomical locules (compartments) and embryonic seed chambers. An authentic 8 Mukhi bead will clearly show 8 internal radial compartments separated by natural cellular septa.
